Mike joins N3RD as to help out our technical team as we continue to grow.  Irish born and raised in the Manchester and Yorkshire suburbs, Michael moved to London two years ago after being accepted into university on early submission to pursue a career in design. He was accepted onto a Graphic Design BA course in September ’09 and soon after started freelancing (in which he was self taught). In the summer of ’11 Michael applied for an internship at Studio N3RD in web development for credits towards his Honours level Work Placement module which lasted for three months which he enjoyed thoroughly and to much delight was offered a job at the end of it where he is now.

We were recently forwarded the Urban Dictionary’s definition of a N3RD, which you can find here

1) Someone who was compiled, not born.
2) Someone who cannot differentiate between real life and IRC.
3) Someone who would rather marry a computer.

or

“Nerd” without the e, replaced by the superior letternumber 3. They are extreme nerds who are very unpopular but their IQ is a lot higher than everyone around them. They are pushed around but they will some day become rulers of the world and all will suffer under their cruel wrath.
Jock 1: “Look at that nerd”
Jock 2: “We should go kick him”
Jock 3: “That’s no nerd! that’s a n3rd!”
Jock 1: “Who cares? let’s go kick him”
Jock 2 & 3: “Alright”

or

The way Internet Junkies refer to themselves and others by
“LoL, BrB AfK
Gotta OwnZorS d jon
PS u za n3rd”

Thierry Florit

Thierry has joined N3RD as a graphic specialist after his recent posting at London based advertising agency Weapon 7.

Thierry’s background in the financial world before taking on his masters in Visual Communication peaked N3RDs interest, and we thought that he might bring a new and interesting point of view to our projects. We were right. He has hit the ground running and, when he’s not designing, or coming up with great new ideas, he’s tweaking our Spotify playlist and building his new bike.

Welcome Thierry.
